Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to approve <br />Minnesota Sawdust and Shavings request for a variance to the following: <br /> <br />1. Sprinkler system. <br />2. Roof color. <br /> <br />Further, that a sprinkler system will be installed within 30:~days after <br />municipal water becomes available. Further, all other items in the building <br />code and City ordinances must be followed through. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: <br />Sorteberg. Voting No: None. <br />Councilmember Van Wagner. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Reimann and <br /> Abstain: Councilmember Schlueter. Absent: <br /> <br />Virgil Barnes - 14399 Ramsey Blvd. (business address) - Stated that he would <br />like to construct a temporary building at the Gateway North Industrial airport; <br />temporary because of the uncertainty of the future of the airport. Mr. Barnes <br />requested a variance from permanent foundation and solid flooring. The <br />intent is to use the building for additional hangar space and he would like <br />to be able to move the building off the property should the airport shut down. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that solid flooring is to satisfy the requirements of the <br />fire code and Mr. Barnes should present his plan to Mr. Berg for further <br />review. The City does not like to go against the fire code requirements other <br />than to grant a variance to sprinkler systems. <br /> <br />Mr. Ronald Danner - Danner's Cabinet Shop - Mr. Danner stated that since his <br />request for a variance to structure location ~was approved on April 17, 1984 <br />a couple of other items have come up that he would also like variances to. <br /> <br />Council placed Mr. Danner's request for variance on the Council Agenda as <br />Case #16 under Council Old Business. <br /> <br />Rick Foster - John Oliver and Associates - Stated that he has a sketch plan <br />for Art Raudio's development along the Rum River that he would like Council <br />to review. <br /> <br />Council placed Mr. Rick Foster on the Council Agenda as Case #13 under Council <br />New Business. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Schlueter and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />approve the agenda with the following additions: <br /> <br />1. Case #13 - Council New Business - Mr. Rick Foster; Sketch Plan <br /> <br />2. Case #16 - Council Old Business - Request For Variance; Case Of Ronald <br /> Danner of Danner Cabinet Shop. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: City Engineer Raatikka stated that he will discuss the <br />possible development of ballfields at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church and <br />rates for storm drainage improvements during Mayor/Council Input. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Van Wagner. <br /> <br />C/ April 24, 1984 <br /> Page 4 of 20 <br /> <br /> <br />
