PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA A public hearing was held on Tuesday, April 17, 1984 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Magnesium Street NW Street Improvement Project #84-11. Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember Jean Schlueter Councilmember Gary Reimann Councilmember Sue Van Wagner Also Present: City Engineer Peter Raatikka City Building Official Clayton Berg Members Absent: Councilmember A1 Sorteberg CALL TO ORDER Mayor Gamec called the public hearing to order at 8:29 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT City Engineer Raatikka gave a slide presentation of the project and costs and stated that a petition has been submitted to the City to upgrade the street to City standards in order that the City can start maintaining the road. City Engineer Raatikka described two alternatives to upgrading Magnesium., Jan Boeris - 14045 Magnesium - If City snowplowing w£11 occur with either' alternative, she is in favor of Alternative ~2 becaUs~e Ofthe,'CoS~t~fact0r~ Mr. Sullivan stated he is present at the meeting on behalf of the~ Gillman~s and inquired as to why the City Engineer prefers Alternative City Engineer replied that Alternative ~1 Would bring the'street up to City standards and realign the street in front of the Gi!lman property, Mr. Sullivan stated that the Gillman's are also in favor of'Alternative #1; the Gillman's are located at the low end of the Street and there is a drainage problem, which Alternative ~2 would not alleviate.~ Alternative #1 would also be better because it puts the burden of'who~s property the street is on at a better distribution than it Es right now; mostly on'the' ' Gillman's property.
