Mrs. Robert Johnson - 16521 Nowthen - Stated she knew nothing of the petition
but she did receive notice of the hearing.

Mayor Gamec stated that a petition brings the project up for discussion and
input; it does not mean the project is going in; that decision is made by
Council. Comments seem to be equal among those in favor and those opposed.

Motion by Councilmember Reimann to table Street Improvement Project #84-2
until there is a stronger showing of residents in favor rather than make
a decision based on a 50/50 showing.

Councilmember Schlueter seconded the motion for further discussion.

Further Decision: Mayor Gamec stated that ~ 'decision is going to have to be
made fairly soon.

Councilmember Reimann amends his motion to include that this street improvement
project will be on the next Council agenda and petitions for and against the
project should be submitted at that time.

Councilmember Schlueter seconded the amendment to the motion.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Schlueter, Reimann
and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Sorteberg.

Case #2: Adoption Of Resolution Ordering Street Improvement Project #84-11:

City Engineer Raatikka recommended going with Alternative #1 as a cul-de-sac
would not be necessary if Hoffman's plat for extending Magnesium Street is
approved and grading costs involved are a lot less.

Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to
adopt Resolution #84-61 ordering improvement and preparation of plans and
specifications for Street Improvement Project #84-11 (Alternate #1). (Please
refer to resolution file for Resolution #84-61).

Further Discussion: Councilmember Schlueter inquired as realignment involved
with Alternate #1. City Engineer Raatikka replied that the street would be
realigned in front of the Gillman property. Mr. Hoffman stated that he prefers
Alternate #2 for cost reasons, but if it presents problems he will go along
with Alternate #1. Ms. Boeris stated she prefers Alternate #2 for cost reasons.
Mr. Berg noted that Alternate #2 does not bring the street up to City standards.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Schtueter, Reimann
and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Sorteberg.

A citizen in the audience raiSed some questions regarding Mr. Hoffman's plat
to extend Magnesium.

Mayor Gamec stated that Planning and Zoning is conducting a public hearing
regarding that plat~!the first Tuesday in May, 1984.

Case #3: Adoption Of Resolutions Ordering Improvement And Preparation Of
Plans And S~ecifications For The 1984 Seatcoatin9 Projects:

a) White Pines Estates Sealcoating Project #84-3 -

Motion by Mayor~Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to adopt

Sp C/April 17, 1984
