Councilmember Sorteberg noted that some businesses in Ramsey are not generating <br />revenue for reasons such as bankruptcy and the~e should be some sort of a tax <br />reduction in those cases. <br /> <br />Mr. Wirz replied that if a business is not producing, a depreciation can be <br />placed on their assessment. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann agreed with Councilmember Sorteberg's suggestion and <br />directed the City Assessor to follow up on this issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember ~Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />authorize the City Assessor to adjust the following type of buildings to the <br />percentage as indicated: <br /> <br />Year Type of Building % ~ge Raise <br />1984-1985 D 5% <br />1984-1985 C 5% <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Wirz noted that residential rates will be increased by about 1%% on the <br />1984 assessment collectable in 1985; this increase is due to the School <br />District and change in homestead credit formula. <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that City Administrator has presented Council with the <br />proposed Charter which he had just received from the Charter Commission. <br />Mayor Gamec stated that Council will forward the Charter to City Attorney <br />Goodrich for his review and requested that the City Attorney provide Council <br />with a written sequence of procedures regarding the charter. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to accept the <br />Charter. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann inquired if all City commissions have had a chance to <br />review the document. <br /> <br />Charter Commissioner member Sieber replied that he personally delivered a copy <br />to~.very City commission member; there have been a couple of changes in the <br />document since those copies were delivered and those changes are noted in <br />Charter Commission minutes. <br /> <br />Case #3: Request For A Conditional use Permit To Operate A Wood Business In <br /> A Residential Zone; Case Of Mr. Arnold Klar: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />approve the proposed findings of fact for Mr. Arnold Klar's conditional use <br />permit request. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
