Update <br />Staff, CBRE, MN DEED and Connexus provided a preliminary, unofficial proposal on retaining the <br />business in Ramsey. This business has expressed interest in the new business park and has <br />indicated a land purchase as a potential next step. Given the movement forward on setting up the <br />park (timing) and availability of existing infrastructure, this could be a great first project for the <br />business park. A further update is that another local business has indicated interest in Prospect <br />Cycle's existing building. <br />Prospect 80 <br />Prospect 80 is a local manufacturer in need of adding roughly 60- 70,000 sq. ft. to their existing <br />building. Staff has worked in the past (last couple years) to provide information needed for an <br />expansion. At a recent BR &E visit Staff rekindled the discussion and has been providing additional <br />information for the business to utilize as it prepares its expansion plans. An expansion at the <br />Ramsey location requires listing a building at another location that it owns. This prospect has <br />sufficient space to expand at its current site. <br />Update <br />No update to date. <br />Opportunity Iron <br />A local manufacturer is seeking 50,000 square feet of space; new or existing. Staff provided an RFI <br />to the development community seeking available space in that size range (along with other criteria) <br />to no avail. Staff has subsequently connected this business with a design build firm that reached <br />out stating interest in drafting estimates for a new build project. Prospect Iron is a prominent, <br />longtime business in Ramsey. This prospect may locate at our Ramsey Blvd. parcel or in the new <br />business park. Each location allows for this type of use. Prospect Iron was relayed information <br />regarding assistance programs available to assist in their expansion (and retention of) here in <br />Ramsey. <br />Prospect Shape <br />This prospect is a local manufacturer —one our largest employers. Staff is working diligently with <br />this business on a possible redevelopment project. Staff has connected with State (redevelopment <br />support programs) and the business' design build firm to identify a game plan to make this project <br />happen. This project may include up to 40 -50k square feet of warehouse /manufacturing /office <br />space. <br />Update <br />Staff has been in contact with the design build firm facilitating the project. No substantive update <br />available. <br />Prospect Sync <br />This prospect is a local manufacturer that has outgrown its space 3 times over the years. They are <br />currently residing in roughly 13,000 square feet with the need for 30,000 with room to possibly <br />grow in the future. This business employees 18 well paid workers and is in need of space in a short <br />amount of time, spring 2015 at the latest. Staff is working alongside CBRE to provide an informal <br />proposal on retaining this business in Ramsey. There are sufficient sites and options available, <br />including a possible existing building. <br />
