COMMISSION BUSINESS <br />5.01: 2014 Summer Event Series Recap <br />Parks & Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood stated the Draw 2014 Summer Event <br />Series kicked off with the City of Ramsey's own RJM Distributing and Killebrew Root Beer on <br />July 12 and continued through the summer to the Park Patron Picnic on August 28 The <br />purpose of this case is to recap The Draw Summer Event Series and receive any feedback or <br />comments. This is also an opportunity to mention all the sponsors in 2014, which helped cover <br />the full cost of the events throughout the season. <br />Park and Recreation Intern Riley Donovan provided additional detail on the successful 2014 <br />season with a presentation on each of the events. There were 11 events in total. Mr. Donovan <br />explained what was done at each event and who the sponsor was. The largest crowd was for the <br />Rubber Soul event. Attendance was 40% up from last year. A combined 4000+ people for all <br />events. A weekly raffle was held at each event. Mr. Donovan thanked the sponsors and the <br />Ramsey Foundation for their support. <br />Chair Olsen thanked the residents for their attendance at the events. Commissioner Bennett <br />thanked Riley Donovan and Mark Riverblood for their coordination and planning of the events. <br />He heard many positive comments from residents about the events and the farmer's market. <br />Commissioner Bennett also thanked the sponsors. He mentioned he was asked by residents when <br />beer would be sold and noted that when Ramsey Lions were a sponsor, beer was sold. <br />6. COMMISSION /STAFF INPUT <br />Parks & Assistant Public Works Superintendent Mark Riverblood reviewed the following: <br />Elmcrest Park Community Building — The building is substantially complete and the keys will be <br />handed over to the City next week. This is in time for the Northern Lights Tournament. A <br />dedication will be held as part of the October 4 tournament. The building looks great and has <br />been furnished with the necessities. <br />Pickleball at Central Park — There is a locker on site for using equipment necessary. There are <br />six pickleball courts. <br />Bikes at City Hall — The bikes are being used daily. The City has 50 miles of trails. Many people <br />biked to the concerts. <br />Canoes and Kayaks at Sunfish Lake Park — There are 900 unique card users.
