Mr. Gilbertson stated that <br />Ramsey doesn't want business; Ramsey chases business away. <br /> <br />Mr. Brennan stated that he and his client just found out about the State <br />compliance certificate; requested Council grant Mr. Gilbertson the authority to <br />operate his business as soon as all criteria are met. Mr. Brennan stated that <br />Mr. Gilbertson's attorney frc~ Leonard, Street and Dienard stated in writing <br />that the taxes would be paid by June 26; Mr. Gilbertson found out on June 29 <br />that it had not been done; this is the reason Mr. Gilbertson was scrambling at <br />the last minute to try and keep his business in operation; Mr. and Mrs. <br />Gilbertson's life savings are tied up in that business. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman asked it it is appropriate or legal for Council to entertain <br />discussion of this issue on tonight's agenda. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that Council can make a decision to discuss the issue; it <br />would not be opening up the City to liability to discuss the subject. Mr. <br />Goodrich stated that the discussions would be basically the same as June 25 <br />except that now the Council has to address the issue of requiring a new liquor <br />license application versus continuing the existing application. <br /> <br />Mr. Gilbertson stated that his liquor license renewal fee has been paid to <br />Ramsey with a certified check; the tax matter is out of his hands. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that Mr. Gilbertson has a right to be heard; he stands <br />to lose everything he (runs. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilme~bers Cox, Sorteberg and Reimann. <br />Voting No: Mayor Heitman and Councilmember Schlueter. <br /> <br />Jon Blattman- 14320 Partridge Street- Anoka - Requesting City approval for a <br />one day beer license for a benefit to be held at St. Anthony Gun Club on July <br />28, 1985. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilm~nber Cox and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to approve <br />of granting a temporary beer license frcm 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on July 28, <br />1985 for the Jim Heil benefit to be held at the St. Anthony Gun Club, in <br />accordanoe with City ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilmeabers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Schlueter, and Reimann. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />John Boros - 7130 156th Avenue N~ - Chris Agency in Anoka - Stated that there <br />are plans to develop two lots; soil borings show inadequacy for on-site septic <br />systems; there is develo~ent on both sides of these lots; requesting building <br />permit to build on these lots; willing to put in a specialized septic system. <br /> <br />Mr. Berg stated that one lot has a water table of 40" and the other is 30"; <br />ordinance requires that a lot have 50% class 1 soils. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilm~mber Sorteberg and seconded by Councilm~mber Cox to place <br />Mr. Boros' request on the agenda as Case #12. <br /> <br />July 9, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 5 of 22 <br /> <br /> <br />
