Based on the present staff, Ms. Johnson is
the only person who could determine those figures.

Mr. Schnelle stated that he had originally planned on retiring this month and
he is still willing to do so; it might even be more appropriate in view of
the t~o letters sukmitted b~ Councilm~mber Cox during Citizen Input.

Councilmember Cox stated that the two letters Mr. Schnelle is referring to were
from citizens and those citizens have a right to register their complaints.

Mr. Schnelle stated that if the citizens feel that way, then he should retire
sooner so there won' t be any overstaffing at City Hall.

Councilm~ber Cox stated that Mr. Schnelle retiring this month would be
appropriate.

Motion by Councilm~ber COx to adopt Resolution 985-142 accepting Mr.
Schnelle's resignation and to be effective August, 1985.

Motion failed for lack of a second.

Councilmamber Reimann stated that the time fr~e suggested in the proposed
resolution (October) was to allow for certain things being accomplished before
Mr. Schnelle's resignation, i.e. budget, screen replacements for the position;
it should be Mr. Schnelle's decision and choice to leave earlier than that.

Motion by Mayor Heitman and seconded by Councilm~mber Sorteberg to adopt
Resolution #85-142, with the following amendments, accepting the resignation of
Mr. Lloyd Schnelle:

1.
