IMPLEMENTATION PRIORITIES
Immediate Priority
Projects included in the immediate priority timeframe are those that target key pedestrian safety issues, west-
bound Highway 10 mobility needs, and establish critical local network connections to support future improve-
ments. There are a total of six projects that are ready to advance immediately upon securing funding. These
projects provide an immediate impact and have the support of partnering agencies and many property owners.
The combination of the immediate projects results in the removal of the second of five traffic signals (at Fairoak
Avenue), removal of nearly 40 access points, and greater utilization of existing (or soon to be) grade separation
of Highway 10. These six projects total approximately $30 million including $4 million in RALF payback. While
the costs are roughly 10 percent of the previous freeway vision, it is expected to achieve over 40 percent of the
safety benefit and 20 percent of the operational benefit that a freeway facility would provide.
HIGHWAY 10 ACCESS PLANNING STUDY 78
