Mr. Raygor inquired if it would be feasible or practical to put together a one page informational <br />item with the date of the public hearing sent to the residents of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Chairperson Vogt replied that that was a good recommendation. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer suggested that the Council solicit public input at their next Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Ms. Kurak offered that any Charter member join her for the Council update to discuss the issue <br />further. <br /> <br />A joint meeting with the City Council was scheduled for August 15th at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Chairperson Vogt inquired if the League of Minnesota Charter cities report includes a list of how <br />many Charter cities are City Manager cities. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich replied that he thought it did. <br /> <br />Chairperson Vogt requested that staff include that information in their next packet. He inquired <br />if it was possible to send out notices to all residents informing them of the meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner LaMere inquired as to how other public meetings are publicized. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich explained that typically there is a notice in the Anoka Union, as well as a <br />notice on the door at City Hall. Some times things are in the Ramsey Resident. He stated that <br />the Commission request that the Council authorize funding for a special mailing. <br /> <br />Chairperson Vogt stated that he would be in favor of following the standard practice of <br />advertising in the Anoka Union as well as a notice at City Hall. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich noted that they could also put a notice on Cable TV. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ebel inquired if it would be okay to give the information to the reporter. <br /> <br />Commissioner LaMere stated that she would prefer that they follow normal procedures for <br />public hearings otherwise they are setting precedent for future meetings. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deen~r requested that at the end of the meeting it state when the next <br /> meeting <br />will be held since it/hot be a regularly scheduled meeting. <br /> <br />Case #3: Review of State Statute 410 <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer has requested the review of State Statute 410 be placed on the agenda. <br />He reviewed Subdivision 7 for the Commission. <br /> <br />Charter Commission/July 18, 2002 <br /> Page 21 of 22 <br /> <br /> <br />
