Mayor Heit~an stated that City Assessor Wirz' workload has increased to the <br />point where he is swawped since taking on the position of Acting Building <br />Inspector. <br /> <br />Council~e~ber Reimann stated that this issue will be discussed at Friday's <br />Personnel meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Heit~an stated that Ramsey has two outstanding positions, Building <br />Inspector and City Administrator; when is Council and Personnel Committee going <br />to Feet to review the candidates for those position? <br /> <br />Councilmerber Sorteberg stated that with respect to Building Inspector, the <br />Personnel Cowwittee can recon~rend the top 10 applicants; with respect to City <br />Administrator, the entire Council should be involved; Mayor should schedule a <br />meeting to address these issues. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that the Governor's Commission is meeting on October 30 to <br />discuss fiscal disparities, tax incr~rent financing and local government aids; <br />who will be attending from Rawsey and what does Council want presented? <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that while attempting to get more fair taxation <br />policies for other than residential type develo~ent, Ramsey should be cautious <br />in it's support of tax increment financing because it is based on the current <br />taxation policies we are attempting to change. "' <br /> <br />Council consensus is that Finance Officer Graczyk attend the October 30 ~eeting <br />regarding fiscal disparities, tax increment financing and local goverr~rent <br />aids, keeping in mind those concerns conveyed to hiw by former City <br />Administrator Schnelle and Councilmerber Cox regarding these issues. <br /> <br />Council consensus was to schedule a special Council ~eeting for October 28 at <br />7:30 p.m. to review City Administrator job applications and Building Inspector <br />j ob applications. <br /> <br />Mayor Heit~an requested that all council~rbers be prepred to recommend 5 <br />candidates for the position of City Adrinistrator. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilwe~ber Reimann and seconded by Mayor Heit~an to adjourn the <br />regular meeting of Ramsey City Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilwewbers Sorteberg, COx, <br />Rei~ann and Schlueter.
