PROCEEDINGS OF CITY OOUNCIL <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council was conducted on Tuesday, Octobedr <br />15, 1985 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Rawsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Me~ber s Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Heit~an <br />Councilme~ber A1 Sorteberg <br />Councilme~ber Arnie COx <br />Councilwe~ber Gary Reimann <br />Councilwe~ber Jean Schlueter <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator/City Attorney William Goodrich <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />City Planner Anne Norris <br />Finance Officer Noel Graczyk <br /> <br />C~nL ~00RDF_~R <br /> <br />Mayor Heitwan called the regular Council meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and led <br />in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Douglas Fountain - 15255 Garnet Street - Stated that prior to this meeting <br />being called to order he was approached by Councilman Cox in the City Hall <br />lobby regardin9 recent statements to the effect that Councilman Cox's motor <br />vehicle rental business not being properly licensed. Mr. Fountain stated that <br />Councilman Cox accused him of sucking up tax dollars. Mr. Fountain stated <br />that Councilman COx is the one sucking up tax dollars as he has not paid taxes <br />due and as a member of City Council receives $250/~onth for not doing his <br />responsibilities. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox stated that he has not taxes due that are not within the law. <br />Councilman COx stated that it is always a situation of the person with the <br />responsibility getting the criticism. Councilman Cox stated that just as for <br />anyone else, if he does not pay his taxes he will have to forfeit his property. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGE~DA <br /> <br />Mayor Heit~an distributed copies of a letter fro~ Deloitte, Haskins and Sells <br />dated Sept~ber 10, 1985 regarding the audit of accrued times for City <br />Administrator Schnelle. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox stated that at one time the Ramsey Council did express an <br />interest in being able to purchase property adjacent to City Hall property. <br />Councilman Cox stated that the property owners recently contacted him; they are <br />ready to sell the property and want to know if the City is still ineteresed in <br />purchasing it. <br /> October 22, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 4 of 21 <br /> <br /> <br />
