2014 Happy Days Festival Recap
The City of Ramsey's 16th annual Happy Days Festival was a great success! We saw beautiful
weather, impressive community involvement, and the largest Happy Days crowds to date -
attracting several thousand Ramsey residents and visitors.
The day started off on a great foot with 77 runners showing up to take on the new Connexus
Energy 5k course and nearly 60 riders enjoying the scenic family bike tour from the Ramsey Fire
Station to Lake Itasca Park. 75 expos vendors filled the field across from the Ramsey Municipal
Center and attracted steady crowds throughout the day. In the afternoon, classic cars lined
both sides of Sunwood Drive for the Happy Days Car Show, which was later replaced by visitors
who gathered to pull up a spot along the curb and watch the 2014 Happy Days Parade,
featuring an impressive 50 floats this year.
There was fun for all ages; from the inflatable playgrounds, face painting, and youth talent
show for the kids, to Bingo, the Chili Cook -off and the first ever Happy Days Bean Bag
Tournament for adults. Everyone enjoyed delicious food from 7 different vendors and
awesome musical performances by the Megan Elizabeth Band, the Bill & Danny Show, and the
very talented Maiden Dixie band. The fireworks show was the perfect way to end the day!
The Happy Days Committee would like to thank all of those who volunteered their time and
efforts toward making the 16th annual Happy Days Festival a smooth event, especially;
- the Ramsey Police Department, police reserves, and police explorers
- the Ramsey Fire Department
- Public Works Department
Without whose hard work and cooperation this event would never be possible.
I would also like to recognize the Happy Days Committee, for the hours they put into making
this day a success, not to mention their year-round dedication to the planning process.
And a special thank you to the many generous sponsors whose contributions help to make this
event a wonderful celebration for our community each year.
Our platinum sponsors donate over $1,000 towards the festival.
- Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce
- Bank of the West
- BOB FM
- Bolton & Menk
- Connexus Energy
- Do All Printing
- Freedom Christian Church
- In'Tech Industires & Extreme Products
