CITY OOUNCIL <br /> ~3BLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RA~EY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, November 12, <br />1985 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota regarding zoning ordinance amendment on accessory use permits. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Heitman <br />Councilmember A1 Sorteberg <br />Councilmember Arnie Cox <br />Councilmember Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember Jean Schlueter <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator/City Attorney William Goodrich <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />Reparter Cathy Cassidy <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman called the public hearing to order at 7:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that the proposed amendment would allow persons on parcels <br />one acre or less in size to apply unused portions of allowable attached garage <br />square footage to the 624 sq. foot allowed detached accessory structure; the <br />total allowable square footage of garage and accessory structure allowed on <br />parcels one acre or less would be 1488 square feet. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman stated that the proposed ordinance amendment modifies the parcel <br />size categories; there will be a category for parcels one acre and less, 1 to 2- <br />1/2 acres and 2-1/2 acres and greater. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that the proposed ordinance amendment is also more <br />restrictive with regards to accessory structure exterior design on smaller <br />parcels. <br /> <br />Roy Newcomb - 16431 Dysprositlu - Noted that the amendment to the zoning <br />ordinance does not propose to make any adjustments to placement of accessory <br />structures. Council stated that they would be studying the entire ordinance <br />and structure placement should be review;ed. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman replied that the entire ordinance was reviewed and in his opinion <br />structure placement was adequate as written. <br /> <br />Mr. Newcomb suggested that the Building Inspector be given authority to grant a <br />building permit with a variance to structure placement if lot layout prohibits <br />complying with the ordinance. <br /> November 12, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
