PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA OOUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, April 9, 1985 <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />regarding Sealcoating Improveuent Project #85-8, 156th Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Heitman <br />Councilmember Arnie Cox <br />Councilm~mber Jean Schlueter <br />Councilmember A1 Sorteberg <br />Councilmember Gary Reimann <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle <br />Director Of Technical Services Clayton Berg <br />City Attorney Goodrich <br />Larry Koshak of Hakanson/Anderson Engineering <br />Reporter Angela Flint <br /> <br />~ TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman called the public hearing to order at 8:36 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION BY ENGINEER <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Koshak gave a slide presentation of the Sealcoating Improvament <br />Project showing affected area and estimated total and per unit costs. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Darlene Boje - 7931 156th Lane - Stated that the City has never done any <br />general maintenance to 156th, i.e., patching and filling cracks. Also stated <br />that 156th is a through street to Cry. Rd. #56 and objects to having to pay <br />for a street that everybody uses. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle - Stated that there are 153 miles of City streets and the Streets <br />Department only has enough time andpersonnel to attendto the major repairs <br />that are needed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter - Noted that Darlene Boje says that no repairs have <br />ever been done to 156th. <br /> <br />Darlene Boje - Stated that 156thwas blacktopped 7 years ago and questioned <br />the City not having the time for general repairs in 7 years. Noted that the <br />blacktopping started cracking 3 months after installation and now the cracks <br />are very wide. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman - Inquired if the sealcoating process will correct the problems <br />on 156th. <br /> April 9, 1985 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
