PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA (I)UNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, April 9, 1985 <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />regarding Sealooating Improvement Project #85-10, Oakridge Estates. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Heitman <br />Councilmember A1 Sorteberg <br />Councilmember Jean Schlueter <br />Councilmember Arnie Cox <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Lloyd $chnelle <br />Director of Technical Services Clayton Berg <br />City Attorney Goodrich <br />Larry Koshak of Hakanson/Anderson Engineering <br />Reporter Angela Flint <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Reimann <br /> <br />C.~_r,n TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman called the public hearing to order at 8:55 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION BY ENGINEER <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Koshak gave a slide presentation of Sealcoating Improvement Project <br />#85-10 showing affected area and estimated total and per unit costs. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Resident - 8450 166th Circle - Stated that the issue of who pays for <br />sealcoating is causing a lot of controversy and Council should take a hint and <br />take the necessary action to have sealcoating paid for out of the City's fund. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that Ramsey does not get it's fair share of local <br />aids, which we pay into; Ramsey's share of local aids is pittence in <br />comparison to what other cities of similar population size are receiving. <br />Councilmember COx recommended that the citizens contact their legislators <br />regarding Ramsey getting back it's fair share of tax dollars into the <br />community. Not getting a fair share of the tax dollars is the reason for the <br />fund shortage in Ramsey and the need to assess out sealcoating costs. <br /> <br />ADJOU~ <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Schlueter and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />adjourn this public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Voting Yes: <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br /> April 9, 1985 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
