Motion by Mayor Heitman and seconded by Councilmember Cox to accept the Charter
Commission's recommendation of May 30, 1985 to adopt the proposed changes to
City Charter Sections 3.05 and 3.08.

Mayor Heitman called for a roi1 call vote:

Councilmember Sorteberg - Aye
Counoilmember COx - Aye
Mayor Heitman - Aye
Councilmember Reimann - Aye
Councilmember Schlueter - Aye

Motion carried.

Council consensus was to direct City Staff to prepare an ordinance, to be
introduced at the June 25, 1985 Council meeting, regarding the proposed charter
amen~ent.

Councilmember COx inquired if he could bring up for discussion other charter
concerns.

Mayor Heitman requested that other charter concerns be discussed during
Mayor/council Input.

Councilmember COx stated that in view of the fact that there are Charter
Commission m~mbers present at this time, he would prefer to discuss the charter
now. With respect to the newsletter time frame, Ms.
Bauerkemper stated that the Charter Commission has no input into the time frame
of the newsletter and the reason for requiring a newsletter was to promote
May 30, 1985
