F. Letter From Anoka Count_v Regarding Abatement Team Recommendations: <br /> <br />Council noted Anoka County's letter dated May 6, 1985 regarding the Anoka <br />County Board of Commissioners approval of the Abatement Team Recommendation <br />regarding a procurement process for a Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) facility <br />capable of processing a minimum of 400 tons per day or more of mixed municipal <br />waste. <br /> <br />Councilmember COx stated that he feels Anoka County is considering placing an <br />RDF facility at Site P. Councilmember Cox stated that he doesn't think Ramsey <br />should cooperate or indicate any cooperation with the County and initiate <br />action expressing Ramsey's objection to having such a facility in the <br /> <br />Mayor Hei~man stated that he would cooperate to the fullest extent if the RDF <br />facility were to be located in a comunity other than Ramsey. Mayor Heitman <br />stated that he realizes this is a selfish attitude but feels Ramsey has <br />performed it's duty by way of providing a landfill for some 20-25 years. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to direct <br />City Staff to prepare a letter to County Commissioner Natalie Haas encouraging <br />that the (bunty exclude Ramsey in their site selection process for any landfill <br />associated industry such as RDF, Mass Burn, Waste Abatement, Landfill <br />Expansion, etc. Further, that the letter should contain the signatures of the <br />entire Ramsey City Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes.' Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Anoka County Engineer,s Response To Ramse_v's Resolution #85-8] <br /> Regarding Count_v Road #57 Railroad Crossing; <br /> <br />Council noted letter fr~m Anoka County Engineer dated May 8, 1985 regarding <br />Ramsey's Resolution #85-81 pertaining to CSAH #57 railroad corssing. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Mayor Heitman to direct City Staff <br />to prepare a letter to the Anoka County Department of Highways thanking them <br />for their cooperation in the matter of improvements to railroad crossing at <br />CSAH #57. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Regu_ est That Council Extend A_~p_roval Of Holdina One Regular <br /> Meeting Per Month To October It 1985~ <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Cox to approve of <br />holding only one regular Council meeting each month which will be the 4th <br />Tuesday, until October 1, 1985. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Council consensus is that Council meetings will adjourn by <br />11:00 p.m., but that does not preclude extending the meeting to another period <br /> May 30, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 8 of 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
