Councilmember Cox inquired if a covenants for this kind of P.U.D. would <br />conflict with the existing city ordinances. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich replied that ordinance will allc~ the occupations in this area <br />but the h~mes would require oonditional use permits because they are non- <br />permitted uses on industrial property. <br /> <br />Councilm~mber COx stated that this area might be desireable for such a <br />development as it would serve as a buffer in an area where industrial and <br />residential zones meet. Councilmember Cox stated that he is willing to <br />seriously consider Phase I of this P.U.D. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich suggested that the developer prepare performance standards for <br />the area that would address noise, hours of operation, types of home <br />occupations allowed, etc. <br /> <br />Councilm~mber DeLuca stated that he feels the P.U.D. is worth considering <br />because it would serve as a buffer where residential and industrial zones <br />meet. He would like to see language incorporated into the convenants that <br />would produce a self-policing affect. <br /> <br />Counciln~_mber Pearson stated that he likes the idea of a residential <br />development with home occupations and it should be workable if proper <br />pol icing methods are bull t into the covenant s. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg stated that he likes the idea of an area zoned for <br />hcme occupations. <br /> <br />Order Feasibility Study On Municipal State Aid Project FOr <br /> For 167th Avenue N.W.: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />adopt Resolution #87-51 ordering the City Engineer to prepare a feasibility <br />study to upgrade 167th Avenue N.W. frcm N~wthen Blvd. N.W. to Jaspar Street <br />N.W. to MSA standards. (Please refer to resolution file for Resolution 987- <br />5i). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Report From Road And Bridge Committee: <br /> <br />a) Public Works Property; b) One-Ton Truck; c) Light Equipment Operator - <br /> <br />At the January 27 Council meeting, the Road and Bridge Committee was <br />directed to review the need for a one-ton truck, a light equipment operator <br />and a public works site. <br /> <br />Councilm~mber Cox stated that there was some discussion last year regarding <br />privatization of the public works department and that has not been followed <br />up. Councilmember Cox suggested that rather than purchasing expensive <br />equit~nent for seasonal use, the City look into purchasing used equil~ent or <br />contracting equill~ent and operators during those times; if the city ceases <br />purchasing additional equipment, no additional public works property will <br /> <br />Page 15 of 21 <br /> <br /> <br />
