Council discussed generally the alignment and the type of development that would take place on either side of the proposed road in the northern 80 acres of the landfill site. Mr. Hartley identified that the road would be a limited access road and that develo~mm_nt in or near the landfill facility may conflict with efforts to seek legislation defining adequate buffer areas for landfills. Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to instruct staff to prepare a report on the content of the application for certificate of need and plans prepared by Foth and Van Dyke and evaluate the pros, cons and costs of the Waste Management proposed agreement. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT .._~.~.; 'Mayor--Reima~9 mentioned that he had talked with the Anoka Postmaster about the possibility of Ramsey being assigned a separate zip code and that the Postmaster instructed that a letter should be sent to the Postmaster General requesting such a change. Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Cox to instruct city staff to prepare a letter to the Postmaster General requesting that Ramsey be assigned a separate zip code. Fbtion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Cox to adjourn the special Council meeting. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, COx, DeLuca and Pearson.
