Director to discuss the possibility of a facility being developed in <br />Ramsey and the meeting was encouraging . <br /> <br />Council directed Ms. Norris to forward City brochures, demographic <br />information and a listing of area amenities to the YMCA State Director. <br /> <br />i) Discussion Regarding Number Of Accesses Required To Plats - <br /> <br />Ms. Norris reported that the Planning and Zoning Commission has directed <br />her to research what other communities require for plat accesses. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg <br />directin~ the Planning and Zoning Commission to proceed to gather <br />information and establish a proposed policy regarding the number of <br />accesses plats should be required to have. This issue shall also be placed <br />on the April 14, 1987 joint City Council/Planning and Zoning Commission <br />meeting agenda. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />j) Availability Of Posts And Cable For Use At Parks - <br /> <br />Councilm~ber Cox stated that he has access to rounded posts and cable, at <br />a substantial cost reduction, that could be used around park permiters. <br /> <br />Mr. Mevissen stated that privatization of the public works would impact the <br />need for posts and cable as contracting out services would most likely <br />include material and labor. <br /> <br />Councilm~ber Cox disagreed and stated contracting out could be for labor <br />only. <br /> <br />Mr. Mevissen reported that he has enough posts for Titterud Park. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca, for <br />discussion, to authorize purchasing 400 posts. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Mevissen inquired as to any costs related to <br />delivery of the posts. Councilmember Cox stated that he will deliver the <br />posts to the public works department. Councilmember DeLuca noted that this <br />motion does not include the purchase of cable; suggested funds be <br />transferred from the landfill fund to pay for the posts as this purchase is <br />not a budgeted item. Councilmember COx stated that park fund money would <br />be used for the purchase of posts. Councilmember DeLuca noted that perhaps <br />the Park Commission does not want to use park fund money for posts. <br />Councilmember Cox noted that there is over $100,000 in the park fund. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, COx, <br />DeLuca and Pearson.
