Mr. Hartley reported that the Department of Transportation Aeronautics <br />Division is in the process of reviewing Ramsey's request for airport <br />zoning. During that process it was discovered that there is a document the <br />City must sign which confirms that the site of the existing Gateway North <br />Airport is the site that has been selected for a municipal airport. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson <br />confirming and approving the application for Certificate of Approval for <br />Gateway North Industrial Airport as the site selected for a municipal <br />airport. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca amd Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley reported that the Commissioner's order of approval on airport <br />zoning is expected in the very near future. Once that is received, the <br />date for the second airport zoning public hearing can be set. The City is <br />waiting for approval to proceed with the environmental assessment study and <br />approval of the airport layout plan. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox requested that Mr. Hartley follow-up on Faith Baptist's <br />request regarding an adjacent parcel of land due for tax forfeit. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg <br />directing that a discussion regarding the need for another elementary <br />school in Ramsey be placed on the next regular Council agenda. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann noted that the Community Picnic is Sunday, June 14 at Central <br />Park. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Cox to <br />adjourn the special Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson.
