to $118,000 available; an additional source of funds could be the Landfill <br />Trust Fund. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox noted that it took 15 years to accumulate these park <br />funds and proposed year I improvements in Alternative 1 would consume just <br />about all of those funds. <br /> <br />Council consensus was that proposed year 1 park improvements be placed on <br />the July 28, 1987 Council agenda and future park improvements be referred <br />to the Budget Committee. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca suggested that volunteer labor and equipment be <br />pursued whenever possible. <br /> <br />Case ~5: Personnel: Resignation Of Jan Bye And Discussion Regarding <br /> ~Q~parable Worth Adjustment For Elvin Erickson: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to accept <br />the resignation of Accounting Clerk Jan Bye. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Cox inquired as to the reason for the <br />resignation. Mr. Hartley replied that Ms. Bye will be returning to school. <br />Council directed that a letter of appreciation be sent to Ms. Bye. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Cox, DeLuca and <br />Pearson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Sorteberg. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Noel Graczyk was present and requested Council's approval <br />to hire a person from a temporary employment service to assume Ms. Bye's <br />duties until that position is filled. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox directing the Personnel Committee to review <br />applicants for the Accounting Department recommended by the temporary <br />employment service. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Graczyk noted that the temporary employment <br />service has already reviewed and selected the person they feel has the <br />proper amount of education and experience to meet Ramsey's needs at this <br />time; Ramsey would be using this person on an interim basis until either <br />this position or another position has been restructured and filled on a <br />permanent basis. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox restated his motion as follows: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca directing <br />that the Personnel Committee meet to review the cost for utilizing a <br />temporary service employee in the Accounting Department. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
