He stated that the total budget of $34,859 <br />reflects an increase of $6,000 (although the actual appropriation is $8,452) <br />over andabovewhatwas requested last year. The increase reflects additional <br />20 hours to be split between Ramsey and Sandburg. It includes both Ramsey <br />Co,unity School at full-time and 75% of the cost of the Sandburg operation <br />which includes the addition of a Key C~Lunicator Project. <br /> <br />Mr. Graczyk reviewed Handout F regarding the 1988 Budget Request for Economic <br />Development Activities. He stated that the EDC is requesting that the Council <br />allocate the remainder of the unused $50,000 allocation for 1987 economic <br />development activities for economic development activities in 1988. In <br />addition, the EDC is requesting that funds be allocatedfor contracted personal <br />services for econc~ic development activities in 1988. <br /> <br />At this time, attention was focused on the need for personnel to evaluate and <br />maintain a City water quality program. Mr. Hartley noted the need for <br />personnel, either contracted or employed by the City, to monitor various City <br />utilities and in particular the City's water systems. Mr. Hartley suggested <br />that the Council 1) define standards and specifications they wish to follow, 2) <br />obtain quotes fr~mpeople who will provide service, and 3) then make a decision <br />on rates for services. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember DeLucca to direct <br />staff to prepare standards and specifications for a water quality maintenance <br />system for review and action at the October 13, 1987 Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
