If the warming house is not constructed
this year, alternative provisions for the lighting of hockey rinks and
a well will have to be made for winter. Grading of parking lots is almost
complete; hockey rinks have been finished graded and lumber has been
delivered. Mr. Otto noted that there have been a lot of donations made
towards Central Park improvements; the city's expenditure thus far, not
including engineering fees, is approximately $12,500. Mr. Otto also noted
that the Lions would like to modify one area of the warming house to be
used as a concession area operated by RYAA.

Mr. Hartley suggested that Council place designation of concession stand
operations at Central park warming house on their November 27, 1987 agenda
for discussion.

Mayor Reimann directed Mr. Otto to research provisions for a temporary
warming house, electricity and well at Central Park so there is a plan in
place in the event the warming house construction does not take place this
year.
City Council/October 13, 1987
