PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, November 10, <br />1987 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota regarding Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc.'s request to extend <br />the term of a conditional use permit for mining. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Arnie Cox <br />Councilmember A1 Sorteberg <br />Councilmember Steve DeLuca <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator David Hartley <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Community Development Director Anne Norris <br /> <br />GALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called the public hearing to order at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />STAFF PP~ENTATION <br /> <br />Mr. Nartley stated that it has been over two years since the item of a <br />grading permit at the Anoka County Sanitary Landfill was discussed and <br />provided Council with copies of minutes from that period of time, a copy of <br />the conditional use permit issued. Mr. Hartley noted that the term in the <br />permit states that the excavation is to be completed by November 26, 1987 <br />and Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc. has requested an extension of the 2 <br />year period to complete excavation. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox noted that it has been indicated by Waste Management of <br />Minnesota, Inc. that they can accomplish the excavation by November 26 but <br />it is not a good time frame in which to attain proper cover and excavated <br />materials would have to be stockpiled. <br /> <br />Mr. Nartley stated that the public hearing procedure is being followed <br />because the terms of the permit are being changed; another permit would be <br />issued with the revised terms. <br /> <br />CITIZEN I~PUT <br /> <br />Ed Hamilton - 6615 Hwy. #10 - Inquired as to the length of time that is <br />being requested on the extension. <br /> <br />City Council/Public Hearing/November 10, 1987 <br /> <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
