in the near future; the details of that situation are to be discussed at a <br />meeting on December 1 between the City, North Fork and Burlington Northern. <br />Permits to access Hwy. #10 from Dayton Port have been received from Mn/DoT. <br />The hearing between the City and Burlington Northern to establish Dayton <br />Port as a public crossing has been postponed from December 8 to some time <br />in January; the scheduling of hearing dates are beyond the City's control. <br />Mr. Hartley stated that Burlington Northern has also agreed to prepare a <br />map indicating possible alternate alignments for relocating the railroad <br />tracks. <br /> <br />Case #10: Findings Of Fact And Conditional. Use Permit For Waste <br /> Management Of Minnesota. Inc.: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt <br />Findings of Fact 0190 regarding Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc.'s <br />request for an extension of it's mining and excavating conditional use <br />permit. (Please refer to findings of fact file for Findings of Fact 0190). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to extend <br />the November 25, 1985 Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc.'s mining and <br />excavating conditional use permit to May 26, 1988 based on Findings of Fact <br />0190 adopted on this date on this subject. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that staff will be meeting with representatives of Waste <br />Management of Minnesota, Inc. to refine their proposal for vertical <br />expansion and development of a ski hill. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that Mr. Goodrich should review that final <br />proposal and make a report to City Council. <br /> <br />Council directed city staff to prepare an ordinance amendment establishing <br />the commencement date for conditional use permits as the date of actual <br />issuance and not the date of application. <br /> <br />Case ~1~; Request For Anthori~tion To Hire Economig Development InterD <br /> ~p Complete Star City Tasks: <br /> <br />Economic Development Commission member, Steve Gorecki, was present and <br />stated that the city has been involved in an attempt to gain Star City <br />status for almost two years. EDC has appointed a committee to coordinate <br />the tasks and is in need of a part-time person for a 6 month period to <br />assist in the various tasks and compile information gathered. The <br />Commission is recommending that Yvonne Curran, a Ramsey Resident and one of <br />the coordinators of the Ramsey Business Expo, be hired to assist in the <br />Star City effort. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca noted that it would be beneficial to have some of the <br />star city information stored in the City's computer for periodic updating <br /> City Council/November 24, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 12 of 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
