Case #2: Presentation by Friends of the Mississippi River <br /> <br />Whitney Clark, Executive Director of the Friends of the Mississippi River, was present. <br />Clark noted that the Friends of the Mississippi River is a I0 year old citizen organization <br />dedicated to protecting the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Metro area. The <br />organization also attempts to reconnect people to the River through a variety of tours and <br />outings. <br /> <br />Mr. Clark went on to explain that most recently the organization has been working on open space <br />and land protection issues in Dakota and Washington Counties. Whitney went on to describe the <br />procedures and outcome of their efforts in these counties. <br /> <br />The Committee discussed the timeliness of Whitney's visit as the EPTF is about to review ways <br />to protect wetlands and greenways. <br /> <br />TASK FORCEINPUT <br /> <br />It was noted that the next regular meeting will be Monday, October 6, 2003. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik noted that the next agenda should include the following meeting minutes for <br />approval: July 18, August 4, and September 3, 2003. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Dvorak and seconded bY Committee Member Max to adjourn the <br />meeting of the Environmental Policy Task Force. <br /> <br />Motion carried.. Voting Yes: Chaiperson McDilda, Committee Members Max, Dvorak, and Sitz. <br />Voting No: None.
