CITY OF RAMSEY
Description of Community Programs and Donations
The Farmers Market patrons for 2014 remain similar, but 'up' from 2013. Concert attendance is up
greater than 30% with sitting concert goers counted at between 300 and 700 per event. Many come
and go during the one and half hour concert, so these numbers may be somewhat higher.
Game Fair
This is a privately operated event located within the city of Ramsey. The event is held annually in August
to promote outdoor sporting and activities as well as local and national related exhibitors. Fair -goers are
encouraged to bring their dogs (leashed) and their guns or bows (cased) so they can participate in the
many activities offered in an outdoor setting. Activities for children of all ages include: slingshots, air
rifles, archery and darts. The city has negotiated an agreement with the event sponsor to offer public
safety support at a 50 percent cost reduction in recognition of the strong outside attention and
community status it brings to the city.
Pet Clinic
The city sponsors two pet clinics per year. The purpose for the event is to offer low-cost pet care
vaccinations and free dog licenses (both required by Ramsey City Code). The event is staffed by five city
employees with the veterinary service being outsourced. All veterinary fees are charged and collected
by the veterinary vendor.
Page 7
