Motion by Cu ss;oner Bauer, seconded by Commissioner Nosan, to recommend that City
Council adopt Resolution #14-10-204 supporting the Highway 10 Access Planning Study with the
needed areas of further analysis identified within said resolution.
Further discussion
Commissioner VanScoy explained he would support the proposed plan but believed that the City
was settling. He had hoped the City would move towards a freeway in less than 25 years.
Commissioner Maul did not want to see a traffic situation created that would be similar to Highway
169 and I-494.
Commissioner Brauer suggested an amendment be added to the motion noting the Commission
had concerns about the timelines for the project and still adheres to the freeway or near -freeway
vision for the corridor.
Friendly Ame4slment: Commissioner Bauer amended his motion to state the Commission
supported the Highway 10 Access Planning Study with the needed areas of further analysis
identified within said resolution directing staff to address the long range concerns of the corridor
and the need for a freeway. Commissioner Nosan supported the friendly amendment.
Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Levine, Commissioners Bauer, Nosan, Brauer, Maul,
and VanScoy. Voting No: None. Absent: None.
