Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Strommen, Councilmembers Johns, LeTourneau, Kuzma, <br />Riley, and Tossey. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Backous. <br />7.09: Consider Response to Draft Metropolitan Council 2020 and 2030 Forecasts <br />Community Development Director Gladhill reviewed the staff report and recommendation of <br />staff and the Planning Commission to approve the draft response to the 2020 and 2030 <br />Metropolitan Council forecasts. <br />The Council acknowledged the importance of accurate population forecasts and indication that <br />because of water and transportation, the City does not have adequate infrastructure to support a <br />higher population. <br />Motion by Councilmember Riley, seconded by Councilmember Kuzma, to approve the draft <br />response to the 2020 and 2030 Metropolitan Council forecasts and authorize its submission to the <br />Metropolitan Council. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Strommen, Councilmembers Riley, Kuzma, Johns, <br />LeTourneau, and Tossey. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Backous. <br />8. MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br />City Administrator Ulrich announced the opportunity for absentee voting, upcoming meetings, <br />and events. <br />Councilmember Kuzma . reported on a tour of the Mississippi River and indicated staff is <br />addressing areas of erosion. <br />9.
