CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Strommen called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:33 p.m. <br />2. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />2.01: Consider Funding Strategy for Rail Station Enhancements and Pedestrian Bridge <br />over U.S. Highways #10 and #169 <br />Parks and Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood reviewed the staff report, and <br />described the importance of the pedestrian bridge over Highways 10 and 169 to provide a <br />connection in the community and enhancement to the Rail Station. He indicated that staff feels <br />strongly it is a regional facility and, accordingly, funding should be from regional partners. <br />Parks and Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood stated the City has seen a lot of <br />success in assembling regional infrastructure, such as the Armstrong Interchange, Riverdale <br />Drive Extension, Mississippi Trail, and boat landing. He presented slides depicting the Rail <br />Station and described how regional help can be gained to fund the overpass. <br />City Council Work Session / October 14, 2014 <br />Page 1 of 10 <br />
