CASE # <br /> <br /> APPOINTMENT TO ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY TASK FORCE <br /> By: Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />BackgroUnd: <br /> <br />As you may recall, the Environmental Policy Task Force (EPTF) was established by City <br />Council fOr the purpose of establishing regulations for tree preservation and wetland <br />buffering.l The EPTF is currently made up of 7 members: 5 residents and a <br />representarfive of the Park Commission and a representative of the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Former ?!anning Commissioner Michael Reeve was the Planning Commission <br />representa~tive on the EPTF. That seat has been vacant since Mr..Reeve's resignation <br />from the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />The EPTF~ meets the first and third Mondays of the month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. <br />They hav~ completed the Tree Preservation Ordinance and are just beginning to work on <br /> [ . <br />wetland buffer tssues. <br /> <br />At the regular meeting in December, the Planning Commission was approached for a <br />replacement on the EPTF. At that time, none of the Commissioners were able to commit <br />to 2 additional meetings per month. <br /> <br />Recommandation: <br /> <br />City stall'is recommending that the Planning Commission either appoint a representative <br />to the EPTF or request that Council remove the Planning Commission representative seat <br />from the EPTF and find another source for the seventh member. <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Motion toiappoint <br /> <br />to the EPTF. <br /> <br />Motion to request that City Council remove the Planning Commission representative <br />from the I~PTF and designate another source for the seventh member. <br /> <br />PC: 02/05/04 <br /> <br />121 <br /> <br /> <br />
