Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #04-02-XXX RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING NORTHSTAR TH ROUGHOUT CENTRAL MINNESOTA COMMUTER RAIL DAY wHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council (City of Ramsey) of the City of Ramsey, Minnesota, strongly supports the Northstar Commuter Rail (NCR); and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey believes the NCR is a necessary component to our transportation System; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey sees the NCR reducing congestion on the fastest growing corridor in Minnesota: Highway #10 and Interstate #94; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey sees the NCR as an opportunity to provide jobs and economic growth to all the communities within the corridor; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey sees the NCR as beneficial to the environment and the quality of life as it will reduce vehicle emissions. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the Ramsey Mayor and City Council hereby proclaim Thursday, February 26, 2004, Northstar Commuter Rail Day throughout Central Minnesota. 2) That the City of Ramsey urges citizens to attend the All Aboard Rally at the Capitol on February 26, 2004 to show support for this important project. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and lhe tbllowing were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 10th day of February 2004.
