2) Mississippi River Crossing Meeting <br />Mayor Gamec noted that there will be a meeting on October 22 at the senior building in Dayton <br />regarding the scooping document for the Mississippi river bridge crossing from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 <br />p.m. <br />3) Youth First <br />Mayor Gamec stated that Youth First is sponsoring the Alice in Wonderland play that will be <br />held at the Lyric Arts Theater in Anoka. He suggested that the Council authorize $160 to <br />purchase tickets to support a local youth group. <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to authorize the use of $160 from <br />the Council. Contingency fund to purchase tickets to the Alice in Wonderland play sponsored by <br />Youth First to Support a local youth group. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Cook, Elvig, Kurak, Pearson, <br />Strommen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br />4) Business and Retailer of the Year <br />Mayor Gamec congratulated Mr. Elvig and his company for being nominated as the business of <br />the year fro►n the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce and LeTourneaus for being nominated as <br />the retailer of the year. <br />5) Management Team Building Session <br />City Administrator Norman noted that staff will be bringing forward a budget request to hold a <br />management team building session with a facilitator to work on establishing goals for the next <br />year. <br />The Council felt that holding such a session was a great idea. <br />ADJOURNMgNT <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Elvig to adjourn the <br />regular meeting of the City Council. <br />Motion carried. <br />City Couucil/October 14, 2003 <br />Page 29 of 30 <br />
