Alice Mc~innis - 14915 Puma Street - Stated that moving the tracks too far
south will m~an the taking of her home; she doesn't like the proposal.

Councilmember Cox stated that it may be many years in the future before the
relocation ever takes place.

Dan McGinnis - 14915 Puma Street - Stated that he wants to keep his home
after the fire department worked so hard during the recent grass fire to
save his h~me. The railroads tracks should be left where they are or moved
further north. Stated that he hasn't heard any offers from Burlington
Northern.

Council~mber Cox stated that these are just preliminary discussions.

Ragna Pearson - 8846 Hwy. #10 - Stated she is opposed to the relocation of
the tracks as they would cross through her crop land; she is fed up with
people always making proposals for her land; it is supposed to be private
property. Stated the tracks have been in their present location for 100
years and in the 40 years she has been here, she has had no problems with
the railroad.

John Ottenstroer - 5230 163rd Lane, Andover - Stated he is Dan McGinnis'
son-in-law and if there is going to discussion of relocating the railroad
tracks, there should be a number of proposals reviewed to determine which
would have the least i~oact on current landowners. The current proposal
would affect Brooks Market, other buildings in the area and take the
McGinnis h~mestead.

Mike Powers - 8050 147th Avenue N.W. - Stated that he built on his property
last fall and now there is discussion of relocating the tracks right
through his building and Peter Chalich's building; the realignment should
be 200 feet further north in order to miss all buildings.

Dan Castonguay - Stated that he is Gilbert Menkveld's real estate agent and
the relocation would split one of his 4.5 acre parcels in half. The
discussion of the relocation has already caused a potential sale of the
property to fail.

Ragna Pearson - Inquired how much of an easement would be required to
relocate the tracks and what would happen to the existing railroad bed.

Council~mber Cox replied that there has been no discussion with Burlington
Northern regarding how they would be handling the relocation. There are
some parcels that would not benefit at all but others would gain from the
improved layout of that area, taking into consideration it will probably be
zoned commercial and industrial someday. The City is looking at a safer
railroad corridor and highway access not just for today, but for many years
in the future.

John Ottenstroer - Inquired about the time frame for relocating the tracks
and Burlington Northern's opinion of the proposal to relocate.

Mayor Reimann replied that the cost is the determining factor as far as
City Council/May 19, 1988
