Hartley replied thatthe applicant has requested that they be permitted <br />to operate 24 hours a day. City Staff is suggesting that the hours of <br />operation be 11:00 a.m. to midnight Sunday throughThursdayand 11:00 a.m. <br />to 1:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. <br /> <br />C~rald Ladwig - Stated that he is concerned that The Place ~1 will become a <br />hang-out for teenagers and there will be consumption of alcohol on and <br />around theproperty. Mr. Ladwignotedthat his home is within 700 feet of <br />the subject site. <br /> <br />Debra Johnson - 16800 St. Francis Blvd. - Stated that she is concerned with <br />the business operating 24 hours and day and with it becoming a hang-out for <br />teenagers. Ms. Johnson inquired about Ramsey's curfew ordinance. <br /> <br />Police Chief Auspos stated that the existing curfew ordinance prohibits <br />children frombeing on the streets between 9:30 p.m. end 5:00 a.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that an amendment to the curfew ordinance is being <br />proposed at tonight's City Council meeting; it states that children under <br />the age of 14 cannot be on the streets from 10:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.; <br />children be~;een the ages of 14 and 18 years cannot be on the streets from <br />midnight to 5:00 a.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Johnson stated that she is not opposed to a license being granted to <br />The Place 91 if they enforce the curfew ordinance. <br /> <br />Mr. Frank Meyer - 14100 Junkite Street - Stated he is present representing <br />his father, Mr. James Meyer. Mr. Frank Meyer stated that his establishment <br />will enforce the curfew and is aimed at being a family fun center. Mr. <br />Meyer noted that the drinking age is 21 and his establishment will provide <br />a place for young people to be and not drink. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />adjourn the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Counciln~ers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson.
