Case #1: I~=~uest For Amusement Center And Billiard .Tables Licenses:
.... ¢,as_ e Of ~Th~ iPlace %1:'

Mayor Reimann called for any additional citizen input regarding the request
for an amusement center and billiard tables license and there was no
audience response.

Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to
approve an amusement center and billiard tables licenses for The Place ~1
at 6021 167th Avenue N.W. with license provisions as recommended by City
Staff and outlined during the public hearing.

Further Discussion: Councilmember Cox stated that the City should support
and welcome a business that is interested in keeping youth off the streets.
Mr. Hartley noted that he is not convinced there is sufficient room in the
subject building to accommodate all the video games and billiard tables
proposed; one of the proposed license conditions is the requirement to
submit a scale drawing of the facility and equil~ment.

Councilmembers Sorteberg and Cox amended their motion to include that
issuance of the amusement center and billiard tables licenses for the Place
#1 are contingent upon compliance with all license provisions and that the
number of devices placed on the site will not exceed public safety
requirements.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmmmbers Sorteberg, Cox,
DeLuca snd Pearson. Voting No: None.

Case %2: R~q_ue~.t For Metes .And.Bounds SubdivisiQn: Case O~,~Mr. ,,Tom

Mr. Kurak was present.

Mr. ~artleystated that Mr. Kurak is requesting to subdivide his property
east of Armstrong Blvd. into a 25 acre parcel and a larger parcel. Deeds
by a previous owner of the property show the property being split into 3
parcels, which was never approved by the City. Mr. Kurak would not need
Council approval to split off the 25 acre parcel; to split that 25 acres
into 3 parcels as shown on the deeds would require Council approval.

Mr. Kurak stated that he does not wish to plat and he would be satisifed
with redrawing the deeds and splitting off one 25 acre parcel.

Motion by Councilmember COx and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to permit
Mr. Kurak the proposed temporary subdivision of 3 parcels east of Armstrong
Blvd. in order for title to be transferred, but simultaneously the
subdivider Will provide the City with the evidence of a deed combining all
three parcels so that the final result is a single 25 acre parcel.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox,
DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None.

City Council/May 24, 1988
