CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Pro Tem Backous called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:30 p.m. The Council agreed with the request of Mayor Pro Tem Backous to first consider Case 2.04, Discussion on Options for Existing Tanker Being Replaced. 2. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION 2.04: Discussion on Options for Existing Tanker Being Replaced Fire Chief Kapler reviewed the staff report and options for replacing the existing tanker. It was noted that in 2013, the Council authorized the replacement of Tanker #21 and delivery of the replacement apparatus is expected November 10, 2014. He explained the City of Nowthen has expressed interest in purchasing the 1989 tanker and asked whether the Council would support selling it to Nowthen in a price range of $12,000 to $15,000. If approved, the equipment would not be sold until Ramsey staff is trained and competent with the new equipment. At that point, staff would bring a Case before the Council declaring sale of excess equipment. Councilmember Kuzma stated support to sell the 1989 tanker if it is not needed.
