Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #1i: Establish E~p~omic Development Authority: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley explained the powers of an Economic Development Authority and <br />that a speci{ied number of councilmembers serving on the board is required. <br />The Northern Mayors' Association is asking all of it's member cities to <br />establish economic development authorities and each one of the respective <br />EDA's enter into a joint powers agreement for the purpose of conducting <br />economic development types of activities. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />hold a public hearing on a proposed enabling resolution to create an <br />economic development authority within the City of Ramsey on September 13, <br />1988 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />C~se #12: I~trQduce Ordinance To Prohibit Scavenging Of Recyclable <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />introduce ordinance amending Section 110 of the City Code prohibiting <br />scavenging. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />~ Introduce Ordinance Amending Tipping F¢~ A~ Th~ L~mdfill: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that State Legislature has increased by $.10 the amount <br />that cities can collect as tipping fees for waste deposited at landfills. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />introduce an ordinance to increase the tipping fee at the landfill to 35 <br />cents per cubic yard. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
