CITY COUNCIL
PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey City Council conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, September
27, 1988 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey,
Minnesota regarding a request to vacate a drainage easement in Northfork.

Members Present:

Mayor Gary Reimann
Councilmember A1Sorteberg
Councilmember A1 Pearson
Councilmember David Bawden
Councilmember Steve DeLuca

Also Present:

City Administrator David Hartley
Acting Zoning Administrator Merland Otto
City Attorney William Goodrich
City Engineer Peter Raatikka
Finance Officer Sandra Ashley

CALL TO.. ORDgR

Mayor Reimann called the public hearing to order at 7:45 p.m.

?~ES~NTATION

City Engineer Raatikka stated that North Fork, Inc. is requesting that the
City vacate a drainage easement on Lot 4, Block 4, in Northfork.

Mr. Dennis Peck - Project Manager - Northfork - Mr. Peck stated that after
the Northfork plat was approved and filed, the engineers determined that it
would be more appropriate to develop the area with urban versus rural spec
roads. This change created a need for a dedicated drainage easement on Lot
4, Block 4. Consequently, this drainage easement did not get recorded on
the plat and a home was approved for construction within that drainage
easement. That home is due for closing next week. Mr. Peck stated that
North Fork engineers and City Engineer Raatikka are researching an
alternative method of drainage. North Fork will provide an alternative for
the drainage and any financial security required for same for Council
consideration of vacating that drainage easement at this time so as not to
delay the closing on the home.

CITIZEN INPUT

None,

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Bawden to
City Council Public Hearing/September 27, 1988
