Mr. Hartley referred to the Fire Protection budget and noted that it
parallels with the report Council received from the Fire safety Committee
prior to this time.

Council proceeded to review projected engineering costs for 1989.

Council consensus was to allocate $2,000 in the 1989 budget for the
purchase of trees for distribution to all Ramsey residents. Mayor Reimann
suggested ordering additional trees that may be sold along with those that
are distributed to residents at no cost.

Council also allocated an additional $1,000 in the Tree and Weed Department
for Bruce Bacon to use to hire additional in the summer months.

Councilmember Bawden noted that he did not see any funds budgeted in 1989
for recycling and Keep America Beautiful activities.

Mr. Hartley replied that these activities have been funded in the past
through landfill tipping fees received at the City. Mr. Hartley stated
that he has budgeted $25,000 for recycling and Keep America Beautiful
activities in 1989.

Sylvia Fr olik
Secretary

MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT
None.
ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Bawden and seconded by Councilmember $orteberg to
adjourn the special City Council meeting.

Motion carried.
