CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Topic Report: New Development Adjacent <br />Property Grading <br />By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In April 2002, the Council briefly discussed the need for discussion of grading adjacent <br />to a new development project. The item was added to a Council Work session and <br />discussed at a work session on October 22, 2002. During the meeting in 2002, <br />Councilmember Kurak described a situation where a new development sometimes does <br />not make allowances for difference in gradings on neighboring property. Other examples <br />were also Oited by Councilmember Hendriksen. The Council did suggest that some <br />consideration should be placed in the current drafting of Chapter 9 in the City Code in <br />that contour~ information needs to be part of plat or site plan process.
