Mr. Pearson iriquired if any pre-requisite training was required for the position of Fire Chief. <br /> <br />Mr. Bawden states that none were required at this time, <br />position would i: have many opportunities for growth. <br /> <br /> l st Interview - Jaime Axt <br /> <br />and that the individual assigned to this <br /> <br />Mr. Axt resporlCled to pre-established interview questions for the position of Fire Chief. <br /> <br /> 2nd Interview - Bruce Hoeke <br /> <br />Mr. Hoeke responded to pre-established interview questions for the position of Fire Chief. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley commented that both applicants had similiar backgrounds in which <br />leadership/su~" rvisory skills were acquired through on-the-job-training. Mr. Hartley felt <br />that Bruce Hoe~ e has had more time and opportunity to develop those skills. Mr. Hartley felt <br />that Mr. Hoeke!s plans for developing a Fire Prevention Program and group organization should <br />definitely be to~ priorities of the Fire Chief. Mr. Hartley stated that Mr. Axt showed ambition <br />but felt that Overall Mr. Hoeke would be better qualified for the position. <br /> <br />Mr. Rustad staled his concern of the Fire Chief possessing leadership qualities during emergency <br />situations and ~lt that Mr Hoeke would be more qualified. <br /> <br />Mr. Breu felt that Mr. Hoeke would possess a better management technique with members. <br /> <br />Mr. Pearson stated that Jaime would be aggressive in position, but that Mr. Hoeke has had more <br />relevant training . <br /> <br />Mr. Cordie felt :.that both applicants would provide the time and dedication to the department. <br /> <br />Ms. Thul voiced; a concern about department morale and the importance of assigning a Fire <br />Chief as soon ~s possible to establish member organization. <br /> <br />Mr. Bawden slated that Mr. Hoeke would be more qualified based on supervisory skills <br />and experience. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley ma~le a motion to recommend Bruce Hoeke for the posilion of Fire Chief of the <br />Ramsey Volunteer Fire Department. Seconded by Mr. Breu. <br /> <br />Motion carried.:i Voting yes: Mr. Rustad, Mr. Cordie, Mr. Bawden, Mr. Pearson, Mr. Breu, Mr. <br />Hartley. Voting'; no: None.
