EXPERIENCE 7-90 to present, retired from uhe San Diego Fire Departmen~ due no coronary by-pass surgery on September 14, ]988. 3-84 to 7-90, employed as a firefighter with the City of San Diego. My duties were and were not limited to fighting fires, medical aid, rescue work, fire inspections, fire complaints, fire station maintenance, fire apparatus main- tence, fire prevention duties, some fire investigative causes, and other related duties. 7-83 to 3-84, at this time I had several different phases of employment. My family and I were waiting out the winter of "83" to move back to San Diego, California. I was employed at the Amfac Hotel in Minneapolis. This was a thirty story high rise hotel. My position was a maintenance engineer. I worked the graveyard shift and was responsible for the entire operation o.f the engineering department along with any other emergencies that might arise during my shift. After I left the hotel, I worked with my brother in his business as a flooring contractor. I also had several plumbing jobs. 6-83 to 7-83, employed as a deckhand with the Army Corps of Engineers in St. Paul, Minnesota. My duties were in support of the Dredge Thompson. I tended lines, worked on boats, removed and replaced sixteen inch piping from the dredge to shore for discharge of sand taken from the Mississippi River. ]977 to 1983, employed as a firefighter with the City of San Diego. My duties were and were not limited to fighting fires, first aid, rescue work, building inspection, fire station maintenance, fire prevention, investigative fire causes, and other related duties. While on the fire department I have had some extra time for further studies and took advantage of this. In 1979 I took the California Contractor's test in plumbing and passed. On my days off, I worked alone as a plumber. I also have a San Diego City Business License. I work in all phases of plumbing in residential and comm- ercial, new construction and repair plumbing. ]977 to 1983, Scripps Condominium Proper~YManagement Company and Black Mounnain Corporation inc. On my days off from firefighting ! was building room additions for Black Mountain Corporation. This involved the layout, planning, bui!dinc permits, and construction from the beginning from room addi- nions and baths no office complexes and the finish of the same. I was running plumbing, electrical, air condition, and heating vent ducts, false ceilings, lighting, painting, wallpapering, tile flooring, repairing and replacing locks and locking systems. This was a very demandinc ~ob because i had ~o please nhe company and ~he future tenants of such complexes.
