~r KAl) - "AdoDt A Park" Proaram. <br /> <br />Kathy Paterson, Chairman of the Keep Ramsey Clean Committee, reviewed her proposal <br />tor an "AdC)pt a Park" program. She told the Commission that while she was at the KAB <br />convenli01! she found that there are various Adopt A Park programs all over the United <br />States. ohe Idea was to have the seniors citizens monitor the parks, when they notice a <br />problem they contact the group thal adopted that park and later check to see if the problem <br />was corrected. <br /> <br />Ms. Peter;on stated that while doing some research she found several businesses in <br />Ramsay th~t would be interested in adopting a park. She also asked asked if the Park and <br />RecreationlCommission would be interested in working with the KAB Committee to start <br />an "Adopt A Park" program. <br /> <br />Chairman Hetlancl asked if there were any volunteers to work on the "Adopt A Park" <br />subcommittee. <br /> <br />Jill Prall, Janice Johnson, and Mark Boos volunteered to join the subcommittee. <br /> <br />Case #3 Fare Addition sketch Dian Dark dedication review. <br /> <br />Merland Otto reviewed the Faye Addition sketch plan and the layout of the trailway that is <br />being proposed for preliminary plat. <br /> <br />Chairman Hetland stated that he still feels there could be a problem with the trail going <br />through the middle of the development and also along 137th. <br /> <br />Merland Otto suggested that if the Commission is not comfortable with this proposal that <br />they send it back with specific direction as they did earlier or with another <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairman Hettand and seconded by Commissioner Prall to recommend denial of <br />proposed park dedication for Faye Addition as presented and move that the applicant <br />strongly cortsider option #3 recommended by the Park and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Hetland, Commissioners Prall, Johnson, Lokker, <br />and Rustad.. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Rosalie and Swokowski. <br /> <br />Case #4 Review need for Dolic¥ on Dark signing. <br /> <br />Merland Otto addressed the need to put name signs in the parks in Ramsey. He explained <br />that contractors, temporary help, volunteers and emergency vehicles may have some <br />trouble finding some of the parks due to the fact that they do not have addresses or signs <br />identifying :the parks. <br /> <br />Discussion also occurred regarding encroachment of adjoining residents on park lands. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson and seconded by Commissioner Rustad to recommend the <br />adoption of a resolution establishing a policy for signing City parks. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Hetland, Commissioners Prall, Johnson, Lokker, <br />and Rustad;. Voting No: None.
