CENTRAL PARK EXPANSION
STATUS REPORT
By: Merland Otto

CASE #2

Background:

The Parks Commission inquired whether any action has been taken regarding the
possible dedication or acquisition of the acreage east of Central Park. As you recall,
I indicated that a letter had been drafted requesting consideration of this but I could
not recall the details at the time.

Ms. Paula Bieniek, Director of Baseball, 3&4 (RYAA) composed a letter requesting
that Pentair,-Inc. (parent of Federal-Hoffman) consider the possible donation or sale
of the property. A copy of the draft letter is attached. I talked with Ms. Bieniek on
February 19,~ 1991. As of that time she had not received a response, however, she
thought that Mr. Nugent may have contacted the City directly. I'll check into this
further and report to the Commission at your March 7 meeting.

Review Checklist:

Acting City Administrator
City Engineer
Parks Coordinator
Pa rks: 3/7/91
