Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #14 -10 -205 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A COMPRHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT TO CHANGE A LAND <br />USE DESIGNATION OF 15153 NOWTHEN BLVD NW FROM PUBLIC /QUASI- PUBLIC TO LOW <br />DENSITY RESIDENTIAL, AND AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION <br />TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE <br />PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is owner of fee -title to the following legally described property or <br />portions thereof: <br />Lots 4 & 5, Block 1, MEADOW, Anoka County, Minnesota <br />(the "Subject Property ") <br />WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan approved in 2010 shows the designated land uses on the <br />Subject Property as Public /Quasi - Public; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has declared the Subject Property as surplus, City -owned land and desires to <br />sell the Subject Property for the purposes of redevelopment as detached, single - family homes; and <br />WHEREAS, and the City is requesting that the Subject Property land use designation be changed to <br />Low Density Residential; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on October 9, 2014, conducted a public hearing, <br />and recommended that the Ramsey City Council approve the request for an amendment to the Comprehensive <br />Plan. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, <br />ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves the request for a land use designation change on the <br />Subject Property from Public /Quasi - Public to Low Density Residential. <br />2) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes City Staff to submit the necessary documentation to the <br />Metropolitan Council requesting an amendment to the 2030 Comprehensive Plan to change the land use <br />designation to Low Density Residential. <br />3) That this land use change shall become effective concurrent with the City's receipt of notification of <br />approval from Metropolitan Council. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember LeTourneau, <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Councilmember Riley <br />Councilmember LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Backous <br />Councilmember Johns <br />Councilmember Kuzma <br />Councilmember Tossey <br />
