Commissioner Brauer questioned if the City would have gotten the rail station if the FAR were <br />set at 0.65. However, now that the City had the station, it could step back and evaluate its <br />density levels. <br />Community Development Director Gladhill did not believe the City received funding based <br />solely on the established FAR, but rather on the number of proposed housing units. <br />Motion by Commissioner Bauer, seconded by Commissioner Nosan, to recommend that City <br />Council adopt Ordinance #14-14 amending Minimum Floor Area Ratio requirements in the <br />COR-1 Sub -District, directing staff to bring back draft plans prior to final approval by the City <br />Council. <br />Further discussion <br />Commissioner VanScoy did not support the proposed amendment to the FAR. <br />Commissioner Brauer agreed stating he would not be supporting the proposed Ordinance. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Levine, Commissioners Bauer, Nosan, and Maul. <br />Voting No: Brauer and VanScoy. Absent: None. <br />5.09: Review and Recommend a Response to the Metropolitan Council Regional Parks <br />Policy Plan <br />Presentation <br />Community Development Director Gladhill presented the Staff Report stating as the Commission <br />is aware, the Metropolitan Council is in the process of updating Regional Systems Plans. The <br />Metropolitan Council has released the Parks Policy Plan for public comment. The City's Public <br />Works Division as well as Parks and Recreation Commission are preparing a response and <br />desires preliminary feedback from the Planning Commission. <br />Commission Business <br />Motion by Commissioner VanScoy, seconded by Commissioner Maul, to recommend language <br />in the Metropolitan Council Parks Policy Plan on the following board categories: <br />1. Alternate Alignment Study for Central Anoka County Regional Trail <br />2. Alternate Alignment Study for Rum River Regional Trail <br />3.
