Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #14 -11 -244 RESOLUTION TO APPOINT A POLICE DEPARTMENT CAPTAIN AND A POLICE DEPARTMENT TO SERGEANT WHEREAS, Police Chief Jim Way will retire on January 31, 2015; and WHEREAS, Police Captain Jeff Katers will be promoted to Police Chief on February 1, 2015; leaving the position of Police Captain vacant; and WHEREAS, internally Sergeant Brad Bluml submitted a letter of interest and resume, went through the City's interview process, and WHEREAS, staff recommends Police Sergeant Brad Bluml to be appointed to Police Captain on February 1, 2015; leaving the position of Police Sergeant vacant; and WHEREAS, Police Officer Rich Webb submitted a letter of interest and resume, went through the City's interview process, and WHEREAS, staff recommends Police Officer Rich Webb to be appointed to Police Sergeant on February 1, 2015. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: Motion to adopt resolution 914 -11 -244 to appoint Sergeant Bluml to the position of Police Captain with the City of Ramsey, effective February 1, 2015, at $40.58 per hour based on step 4 of the 2014 wage scale and to appoint Officer Webb to the position of Police Sergeant with the City of Ramsey, effective February 1, 2015, at $36.94 per hour based step 4 on the 2014 wage scale. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 25 day of November, 2014.
